Change the number of systems to see how many tons would be produced and what the building's size would be. Every figure below recalculates from that one number, using the same formulas as the Sprouting Gear spreadsheet.

We fully expect to be achieving an average of 17 to 20 pounds per tray as we perfect the best fertilizer and seed combinations. Savings columns: if you would be saving $30, $40 or $50 per ton, times the monthly tons, you would be saving this much per month.

A cow averages about 10 tons of feed per year, so if fodder is fed 3:1 due to water weight, it would eat 30 tons per year. So, tons per year (F4) divided by 30 gives the number of cows fed. Multiply this by 10 if you are feeding at a 10% inclusion rate, as the dairies are starting with.
Based on tons of fodder per year at 16 pounds per tray. Alfalfa offset is fodder divided by 3; alfalfa is taken at 1.75 acre-feet of water per ton.
